Rebar take-off and bar cutting plan
This tool reads the reinforcement schedule already placed in your structural DWG/DXF drawing, totals the steel by element and bar diameter, then builds a steel order and an optimised cutting plan for the stock bar lengths you enter. You set the parameters; the drawing is deleted after 24 hours.
How it works
- Upload the drawing
Choose a DWG, DXF or ZIP file (up to 8 drawings) that contains the reinforcement schedule.
- Set the parameters
Stock bar lengths (one or several, for example 11.7 m + 8.6 m + 6 m), the minimum reusable offcut, the saw kerf and the norm set.
- Review the results
Weight by element, steel order by diameter and length, a cutting diagram for every bar, and check warnings.
- Enter the concrete volumes
Type in the concrete volume by grade (or upload an Excel sheet) to get cement, sand, stone and water.
Which drawings work
| Case | Status |
|---|---|
| Drawings with a steel schedule in Model space | Supported: tables made of attribute blocks (the “steel schedule” commands of AutoCAD/LISP) with the fields SH, DK, CDAI and SL; legacy TCVN3 text is converted to Unicode. |
| Drawings with geometry only (no schedule) | Not supported: the tool reports “no schedule found” instead of guessing a weight. |
| ACAD_TABLE tables or loose text | Not readable in this version; the design already has room for a reader of another design office's format. |
| Figures in the schedule | The tool trusts the figures in the drawing and checks each row against itself (length × quantity, 0.00617·d²), flagging rows that disagree. It does not check the structure and does not add bends or hooks beyond the cut length already stated. |
| Concrete | Concrete volumes are entered by you; the tool does not measure concrete from the drawing geometry. |
What you get
Number of bars for each diameter and length, weight in kg, compared with plain first-fit cutting (FFD).
Cutting patterns and a list of every bar, reusable offcuts and scrap, waste percentage.
Weight by element and diameter group, check rows and warnings.
PC30 or PCB40 cement, sand, stone and water according to Circular 12/2021/TT-BXD or 1776/BXD-VP.
An Excel workbook with 6 sheets and an HTML print view (save as PDF from the browser).
Security and storage
- Structural drawings are confidential: a result opens only from the browser that uploaded the drawing, and there is no public list.
- The drawing is read in a container with no network access; the uploaded file is deleted as soon as the schedule has been read.
- Results and the extracted schedule are deleted automatically after 24 hours; you can delete them at once on the result page.
- The Excel download link is signed and expires after 15 minutes; only the owner of the session can use it.
- Data is sent over HTTPS.
Frequently asked questions
Can the tool read every DWG drawing?
No. The drawing needs a reinforcement schedule made of attribute blocks. A drawing with lines only is reported as having no schedule; no weight is estimated.
Which stock bar lengths are supported?
You enter 1 to 5 lengths (1 to 12 m), optionally with a maximum quantity and a unit price for each; the tool picks the combination with the lowest total cost. Lengths can be overridden per diameter. The default is 11.7 m.
How well is the cutting optimised?
The order is compared with plain first-fit cutting (FFD) right on the result page; using several stock lengths can cut the waste further. The saving depends on each drawing, so check your own figures in the order and in the bar-by-bar cutting diagram.
Where do the material norms come from?
The default is Circular 12/2021/TT-BXD (Appendix VII, group 11.10000), checked against the Official Gazette. You can switch to 1776/BXD-VP (older); some cells of that table are marked “not cross-checked”.
How long are my files kept?
The drawing is deleted as soon as the schedule has been read; the results are deleted after 24 hours.
Does it cost anything?
No. It is free during the trial period, with no payment or sign-up. File-size, reading-time and concurrency limits still apply.
